A docking station redesign aimed at three problems: its appearance, heating, and a screen that couldn’t tilt. It adds a cooling fan and a tilt mechanism.

Three fixes in one dock

The redesign takes on three problems with the original dock: how it looks, how hot it runs, and a screen that couldn’t tilt.

A 5 V cooling fan moves air through the base, guided by the flow paths shown in the renders. The screen tilts on sliding pivot bars, a torsion spring, polished aluminium shafts and linear ball bearings, and cable guides keep the wiring tidy.
