Cutaway render of the dispenser unit: an orange cylindrical casing with the pump and electronics inside.

Smart Water Dispenser

A pump unit that sits on a 19-litre water bottle and fills the dispenser for you, so nobody has to lift the heavy bottle again. Taken from first concepts to a finished, 3D-printed product.

No more lifting

Swapping a 19-litre bottle onto a water dispenser means lifting about 19 kg to chest height. This unit stays on the bottle and pumps the water up into the dispenser instead.

Sealed, stacked and modular

One enclosure holds the pump, the microcontroller and the power regulator, and it’s designed to keep water and air out.

The casing is a sandwich of layers that print and assemble separately, so each one could be changed and tested on its own while we prototyped. The mount on top of the bottle carries the sensors and the pipe connection.

Printed and assembled

We worked end to end, from the first concepts to the finished product, and printed the parts for every prototype.
